The concept of Intelligent Onboarding can be delineated into two distinct phases. Firstly, there’s the imperative task of assessing and comprehending your SAP landscape along with its intricacies and customizations. Subsequently, the emphasis shifts towards meticulously planning and executing an approach under a well-established governance framework. Sapsense harnesses the power of its platform to adeptly guide you through both these critical phases, ensuring a seamless transition into the realm of cloud computing.
1. System Automation Core (SC/CP): At its core, SC/CP functions as an automation and orchestration platform. This means it can record and automate tasks, ensuring repeatability across different tiers. Additionally, it facilitates the creation of documentation such as run books or control sheets for subsequent processes. The System Automation Core is built upon a proven, scalable, secure, and cost-effective approach optimized specifically for SAP, covering a wide range of Windows and Linux-based workloads.
2. Automation Factory: Sapsense operates an “Automation Factory” to furnish all projects with a foundational set of principles and guidelines for consistent automation, enhancing standardization and reuse opportunities across engagements. During the onboarding phase, this approach can be leveraged either in an advisory capacity or more directly to create tailored activities, such as automated provisioning processes tailored to specific industry verticals.
3. SAP Migration Workbench: The SAP Migration Workbench comprises services, best practices, and automation tools designed to support the discovery of technical details and the automated deployment of new systems in the Cloud. Each SAP System ID (SID) earmarked for migration undergoes a dedicated technical project, all governed within the broader project governance framework of SC/CP. This comprehensive process guides an SAP system migration from initial technical details and data model assessment to near-zero downtime production data migration via the public internet, optionally combined with an in-place upgrade utilizing SAP standard tools.
4. Integration Discovery: SC/CP Integration and Interface Discovery play a crucial role in mitigating risks and expediting onboarding processes. Many SAP users often lack a comprehensive catalog of interfaces within their environments, potentially causing delays during Cloud migration. SC/CP aids in identifying and cataloging active interfaces, securely storing the data and presenting it through a user-friendly web-based interface. This allows project teams to assign tasks, identify potential risks (e.g., hardcoded interfaces incompatible with automation), and mitigate them efficiently. Integration Discovery seamlessly integrates into the Project Governance area of SC/CP, ensuring stakeholders remain informed throughout.
5. Project Planning and RAAID Control: Serving as the central control hub, SC/CP manages all activities, both automated and manual, within hybrid teams comprising Sapsense engineers and customer representatives. This framework enables secure, real-time collaboration with enterprise-grade integration to identity and access management platforms like Microsoft Work and Google Enterprise Accounts. The integrated controls and visibility provided by SC/CP support an intelligent approach to workload onboarding, including managing Risks, Assumptions, Actions, Issues, and Decisions (RAAID).
6. Asset Register: In the dynamic environment of the Cloud, visibility and control are paramount. SC/CP furnishes users with a fully configurable register of assets, providing a foundational structure for managing assets effectively.
